First PhD Defence of the Protocell Lab – Dr. Maiia Aleksandrova

On 10 January 2025, Dr. Maiia Aleksandrova successfully defended her PhD, marking the first PhD defence of the Protocell Lab.

Maiia holds a special place in the lab’s history as the very first member to join the Protocell Lab, on 1 September 2021. Since then, her work has played a foundational role in shaping the lab’s scientific direction and culture. Her PhD journey reflects years of dedication, intellectual curiosity, and perseverance.

This milestone celebrates not only an exceptional doctoral achievement, but also an important moment in the growth of the Protocell Lab. We warmly congratulate Dr. Aleksandrova and thank all committee members, collaborators, colleagues, and guests who supported this achievement.
